Job Summary
The objective of this position is to plan, supervise, and coordinate the activities of the finance unit to ensure adequate and accurate financial reporting of the company’s activities You will be primarily responsible for keeping accurate financial information, managing accounting records, overseeing accounting operations, ensuring timely rendition of regulatory returns, collating and monitoring budgets, publishing financial statements, coordinating statutory audits, and liaising with regulators and government agencies.

Outlined are additional duties and responsibilities:
▪ Formulate and implement a sound accounting system for the company
. ▪ Examine and test the internal controls system to ensure effectiveness and recommend changes as appropriate.
▪ Prepare monthly performance reports and variance analyses to support management decision-making.
▪ Examine financial reports, segregated portfolios and performances, and advice relevant to business units.
▪ Prepare annual financial statements and reports.
▪ Collate, prepare, and present the annual budget for management approval and monitor the budget.
▪ Prepare income tax returns from accounting records and ensure prompt payment of various taxes per tax laws. Also, liaise with tax authorities to ensure compliance.
▪ Supervise the finance and operations roles of the company
. ▪ Liaise with external auditors to ensure statutory audit of the company’s financial statement and meet agreed deadlines with the auditors.
▪ Attend investment committee meetings and support the committee on best alternative investment options.
▪ Review the finance function and follow through areas requiring automation for scale up
▪ Other duties as may be assigned by the Chief Financial Officer and Managing Director
Requirements
- Minimum of BSc in Accounting or related discipline. Possession of professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA etc
- A minimum of 5 years in a steady finance role
